Lost Songs and Downloaded Music and Videos from iTMS lost?!?!

    please someone help i don't know what happened but i lost a numerous amount of songs and videos and some i bought and some i had already had the only problem is: Is there a way i can get them onto iTunes w/o having to damage or harm my iPod in anyway? please reply!

    This could be a little tricky. Your iPod will want to auto update which will erase the songs that are not in your library. I believe you can hold down a key [possibly shift] to keep it from doing the auto update. Might want to hang around until someone can help you with that, I don't have my iPod with me at the moment so I can't test it out. I also have iTunes set to not open when my iPod is connected so I can avoid that problem.

    If auto update is not an issue for you, then you can safely connect your iPod to your computer. Then open My Computer. Find your iPod and open it. Have it set to show Hidden folders, to do that go to View, and then there should be a radio button to show hidden folders. I can't remeber exactly what folders show up but it is pretty self explanatory. It will be a little difficult to find the exact files you are looking for as the names are not the same. Once you add them to iTunes their original names will appear again.

    yeah well i actually figured it out a long time ago but thanx cuz u are right about the files thingy
