Hi, Have a problem that is stumping me. I have lost the ability to get sound from video files (specifically noted avi and wm). Have downloaded gspot to check and get an error saying that i get a partial render failure and the mapping field to the audio is blank even when it says no codecs needed or lists that i have the correct codec. Same problem with all players. Some wm9 videos that I have made that do work on other computers now arent even recognized as a wm9 format with windows media. realized that the problem was more widespread when i tried to play my turbotax videos tonight. video is fine...sound is gone... Any help PLEASE...???? Thanks, Matt
Try checking http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/48608 you might wanna get the AC3 filter and reinstalling a Mp3 codec? If for some reason you don't have the MP3 codec (or it has managed to become corrupted), you can obtain the Radium MP3 codec from http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/11/1/2/11-1-2-10.shtml
Thanks for your help. Actually I was able to fix the problem by running the direct x diagnostic program (at least temporarily anyhow). Due to other more serious problems I decided to wipe out my harddrive and start over . Matt
