Hi. I was doing some recording this morning with audacity and since then I cant get any sound through my speakers. I restarted the PC, still didnt work. I reinstalled drivers, didnt work. I restored to a restore point when it should be working and it still doesnt work. I have a VIA HD Audio VT1708S. The computer is acting like the soundcard is working but I get nothing through the speakers. I tried the speakers with my Ipod and they work, so its not the speakers. Can anyone help me??? I'm begging, this computer is quite new. Thanks.
FIXED!!! Most random thing ever: Apparently the sound output jack has a limiter or something so i wiggled the jack that goes from my speakers to the output for about a minute then their was feedback and the sound came back. Weird. I'll probably just get a PCI Sound card.

might also be a cold solder joint which would explain why wiggling it caused it to work again.

Or just tarnished plug/socket connections that needed a little encouragement to make reliable contacts again. Whatever, it's good it working now.
