Low audio on video file

    hello every1
    i recently downloaded a video file which has very very low volume....
    i used virtualdub to increase the volume.....
    but i get a msg that there is
    no audio compressor to decompress the audio source...

    this wat i did.....opened the avi file in virtual dub
    set the audio to full processing mode and video to direct stream mode
    increased volume in audio tool
    tried to save it as avi file

    does anyone know how to fix this by wat decompressor i need??
    or any other possible means to fix the volume?
    please help

    there is no way to fix the audio on this file, what i would is contact the site where you downloaded the file from and let them know that the file has audio problems and ask if they will let you download the file again, if they won't let you redownload the file i would ask for your money back, i am sure that they will help you in any way they can, hope that helps happy burning good luck have a nice day

    Probably the audio is AC3 and it is supposed to be that volume. You could try enabling DRC, boost, normalise, etc. in your AC3 decoder.

    To alter the volume with VDub like you were doing you would need to install ffcHandler's AC3 ACM codec.
