i have been trying the past few days to get an lpcm audio stream of a dave gilmour dvd and down to cd 44.1/16 with no luck what soever

firstly the track is LPCM format 24bit 48k
i started by using smart ripper to extract and demux the file to wav, i tried and play it on my computer but all i get it is static, interestingly enough it was just white noise i could slightly hear some of the track under the static

help on the forum then advised me to use fubar to downsample the extracted wav but still it was nothing but white noise

i read some more and then tried to use smart ripper to extract a complete .vob file and then use DVD2AVI to demux and convert the wav file. i extracted the file got a wav and it was still just noise though yet again some of the track was still barely audible

i read around and found that even though LPCM stands for LINEAR PULSE CODE MODULATION it still can be compressed in many ways often using mpeg 1 layer 2

my thinking is that the wav output does contain pcm information but is still mutliplexed in an mpeg stream some how either that or it may be a 24 bit wav that i cannot playback properly

it is all very confusing any thoughts guys ?
