new!! I have a liteon 5045 hdd dvd recorder , It is really a neat machine , but i can not record rented dvd's to copy off . It will post a message saying that the dvd is copy write protected and therefore can not be copyed . I'am new to this so could you tell me what if anything i can do to fix this problem .
Hello first you canot copy any dvds with the recorder witout the firmware, http://ncc2315.com/ilo/5045/index.htm go to this page and follow the instructions then after that you can burn your dvds
... You're really better off using your CPU with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink ... that way you can keep the menus etc... in other words, a clone of the original ... (that is assuming you have a DVD burner with your CPU .. doesn't everyone?) ...
