I got an Xbox that has XBMC 2.0 installed, with a 300 gb hard drive. The thing is that my c: drive doesn't allow me to write any files to it, and my M$ Dash gives me an error 21 when I boot into it. I tried to restore it from original backups when I first modded my Xbox and it doesn't want to work. I tried FTP, as well as through numerous file explorers. I can't format it either. I know the original Xbox Dash was on the C: drive because for like the first week when it was modded, the files were there. Now it says the drive is empty. Now, the reason why I don't want to start from scratch is because I got 200 gb's worth of stuff on it. Can someone please help me.
If i were you i would buy another drive and then use a file explorer to transfer your games to that other drive. Then nuke the drive that is giving you problems and reformat and restore. We've had problems like this with some xbox's, some people call it corruption and some people call it a linux virus. Either way this is the best way to go about solving this problem. Let me know if you need anything else.
Well, that totally sucks, but in any event, thanks for your help. Looks like I'll be busy FTP'ing for a little while...
The best way to do it is to unlock your hard drive and hook it up to a computer. Have the os hooked up on primary master and hook up the other two hard drives (backup and xbox) to the secondary master and slave. Boot windows and use xplorer 360 to access the fat x partitions on your drive then drag and drop your games over to your backup drive. It will be a hell of a lot faster than ftp. If you get lost just run a quick search on afterdawn, there should be more than enough help for you. As always, if you need more advice i'll be around.
