So I guess Microsoft named the new OS that was codenamed "longhorn" and offically named it "Windows Vista". To me I doesnt sound too bad, I kind of was getting to like the longhorn name, but I guess Vista sounds cooler and newer.

Here is the difference between XP and "Vista".

    1) 512 MB minimum, that means everyone has to upgrade there system ram soon ;)

    2) "Vista" does the following better then XP:
2a) Delete important documents after you save them.
2b) Hunt out mass-spreading worms, viruses etc. faster then XP.
    2c) Lockup, freeze, etc.
2d) Corrupt your HD beyond repair.

What Vista does better then Linux:

(This space was intentionally left blank, you get the idea)

Its cost to "upgrade" from XP: $200 USD (basic) $300 USD (Professional)
Its cost in headaches compared to XP: Priceless!

Both of the above OS systems cost compared to Linux:

XP ("Home"): Around $99 USD, Linux free to $50 USD (from what i have seen)

XP ("Professional"): Around $199 USD, Linux free to $50 USD.

"Vista" ("Home" "Upgrade"): Around $199 USD, Linux (see above)

"Vista" ("Pro" "Upgrade"): Around $299 USD, Linux (see above)

"Vista" ("Home", Full): Around $299 USD, Linux price: duh!

"Vista" ("Pro", Full): Around $399 USD, Linux price: see above

hope you all enjoyed that :)

    Peace,

    Pop Smith

Notice: The above M$ prices are guesses, they will probably be higher ;)
