    Hi

I've a Canon HG10 high Def camcorder that records files to format m2ts. Anyone know what's the best software to edit these files????
I'm willing to buy software so it doesn't have to be free software.

    Thsnks

Why not use the (freeware)MPEG StreamClip software to convert it to MPEG.
That will put you on the track to many Video-editors.

Will it still maintain the high def quality if I do this?

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes it will. Its amazing when you see the difference between VHS recordings and via MPEG Streamclip of the SAME programm. M SC is MUCH better.
I consider it as same quality as the original.

I was looking for some time to get some translation from .ts to ....

With the results of this programm I did stop searching.

By the way there is a hardware solution also.....
The WD media player translate .ts file in hardware straight to your TV. And has some other advantages also.
You can look at the recordings straight from your USB stick or ext HD.
