M2TS file on ps3 no sound help ? ?

    Hi everyone and anyone that can help , i finally figured out how to download and convert high def movie and transfer it onto my ps3 the file ext is M2TS but i have no sound i converted the MKV file with tsmuxer into M2TS in order to play on the ps3 ,can anyone tell me how to get sound on these movies pleeeeease .

    Weird iv just come on about same thing,
    ANY ONE know how to solve this problem

    What format is the audio stream in? I found out by trial and error that only AC3 sound works. I also found out that you can have multiple AC3 tracks (e.g. English and Spanish) and the PS3 will let you switch between them. I only use tsMuxeR and everything works.

    Also, I had to change the extension from m2ts to m2t for PS3 to recognize the file when streamed through TVersity.

    when i put the movie into tsmuxer underneath tracks i have 5 files 3 of them are subs i think and the top one apears to be the movie and under codec it says H.264 , the second one down then which i think is the sample under codec it says DTS ?

    Yes the audio codec is DTS , does the ps3 not support that audio format ?

    PS3 will not play DTS in m2ts files, only from physical blueray dvd or regular dvd. Usually BlueRay movies have multiple audio tracks, one of which is AC3, which is what you need. In your case, you will need to find a way to convert the DTS sound to AC3, the article you followed mentions it at the very top and suggests MKV2VOB method. I've never tried it myself.

    That explains it so thanks a mill i think il stick to dowloading AC3 audio movies save the hasstle
