I was just wonderin how games get saved using these. Will the game saves be exactly like the original game? How is the process of saving?
It temporarily saves it into a battery and then when you get back into the M3 menu it will save it. Yes it saves like a standard game, as you can take that save and load it onto a regular cart by using a program called REIN.
do i have to set up a .dat file in the ROM itself, or is there no setting up for the M3 to b e able to save? it only temporarily saves it? and what do you mean by a regular cart? im not up to snuff on the ds terms yet as i just got one and just started reading about them
everytime you write an NDS to the M3 using the GM it makes a .dat save in a folder called NDSSAVE on the root of the card. when you play an NDS game and save, it gets temporarily saved until you reboot the DS. thats when it writes the save to the .dat file so you can use it later.
ok i get it now. What if i save a game, then dont reboot and save another game? do the temporary saves work with multiple game saves?
dude stop asking dumb questions and start experimenting and searching. it *@$^ing autosaves if the feature is turned on (WHICH IT IS BY DEFAULT) so you have nothing to worry about. Yes it works with multiple games.
