My little brother is going to buy a Nintendo DS Lite very soon. And I want to purchase a M3 Perfect Lite (Micro SD) + Passcard 3. Err... So I need info about these things, because I'm a little lost when it comes to Nintendo, I'm more of a PS2 fan. I've searched around and I'm still confused... So: If I purchase M3 Perfect Lite (Micro SD), what else do I need? What is a Passcard? Do it need it? And how does it work. Can I boot NDS Roms, homebrew, etc, with the M3 Perfect Lite without the need of a Passcard? I'm gonna need to buy a Micro SD don't I? What size do you recommend?
Well.. first you will need either an M3 Lite or M3 Lite Pro (both are microSD). Differences: M3 Lite Pro only handles NDS, whereas M3 Lite handles both NDS and GBA. Prices are also affected by that. M3 Lite runs about $75, whereas M3 Lite Pro runs about $43 (using prices off http://www.getyourgameshere.com ) To boot into DS mode, you *need* a passcard 3 or similar device. Its a one time purchase and if you use it to flash your DS.. you can go sell it on ebay or something and make some money back MicroSD - I would suggest 1GB or larger. If you only want 512MB of space.. a G6 Lite would better suit your needs (along with Passcard3 as well). M3 and G6 are made by the same team.. so its still the same quality product.
Okay... Thanks but another question. I'd rather not buy a micro version (micro SD cards are hard to find), but I was wondering: Which other versions of the M3 can fit into the Nintendo DS lite? I really don't care if the stick or whatnot.
all versions can fit.. its just that the M3 lite sits flush inside the DS Lite.. everything else sticks out. miniSD sticks ou the least, SD sticks out the most.. but its just about the same size
