Hey guys, im a total noob with the ds. I have done some research and found that my best option is an M3sd/passkey combo. Here is the one i am interested in.

    http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-ds-m3lpass

1)I see that its made for a DS lite, will it also work on the older DS's?

2)Will i be able to use a 1 gig micro sd stick? or is that too big?

3)Is this all i need to play DS/GBA roms?

If you guys have any better recommendations, please share :) Thanks!

    1. no it will not work on an older DS
    2. yes you can use a 1GB microSD stick
    3. yes it will be all you need. you should have the M3, passcard3, microSD card, and DS Lite.

if you'd like for it to work on the original DS as well.. i would recommend the M3 mini SD. It doesn't sit flush in the DS Lite, but it does sit flush in the original DS. Because of the way the M3 Lite is designed.. it will *ONLY* fit in the ds lite.

Also, I've heard a lot of bad stuff about ordering from divineo.com. I've had great experiences with http://www.getyourgameshere.com and have placed 3 orders with them already :)

    Here's the M3 miniSD version: http://www.getyourgameshere.com/m3-perfect-minisd-p-28.html

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated! Have a few more questions though

1)what is the difference between the miniSD and the microSD? Is there a benefit of having one over the other, i.e. can i buy a bigger mem stick with the mini/micro?

2)I still havent bought a DS yet, my friend will sell me his original, or I can go to gamestop and buy a refurbished lite. What would you guys say is the best choice?

    @pakixd

I noticed that shop doesnt sell passcard/M3 combos and is currently sold out of most items, do you know another reputable shop by chance? And in your opinion what is a good deal on a mini or micro SD combo, including passcard?

Sorry for so many questions, I just dont want to make any mistakes and wish i did something different after the fact. Thanks again guys :)

    1) the main benefit is that miniSD memory is cheaper right now. a 1GB stick of miniSD memory can be bought for around $20 locally, while the same 1GB in microSD is nearly twice the price

    2) well, the DS lite looks a lot better and is smaller than the original.. and you can change screen brightness. the original DS has a sh!tty screen brightness on it.. so i would prefer to get the lite.. and for $10 more you can get a brand new one (local gamestop sells refurb lite for $120)

even though that shop doesn't sell bundles.. the prices when you add each item separately comes out to be within a dollar or two of the bundles you can find at most other sites. i haven't shopped with anyone else since i got my DS lite.. got burned a while back with a shop that i won't mention (divineo.com) so i had started looking around and found these guys.. real friendly service and shipment was quick too

did you order from the .com site, or another site? .com has a lot of problems with it.. though it looks and acts just like all the other divineo sites their customer service is crap

Thanks for the link to realhotstuff kcajblue :)I just noticed they are based in New Jersey, I live in CA, so it will prolly be a week before i get my stuff:( Kinda sad though, the M3 i got doesnt support gba, does that mean it doesnt support NES or SNES either?

Im assuming you bought from them? How long did it take you to recieve your stuff?

I just got my M3 in the mail, and in the box, it came with 5 different colored slots (to match your DS) but it also came with a larger one the size of a GBA game. I think that one is used for the original DS. I wouldn't know for sure. But it looks like it goes for the Original DS.
