I am trying to back up some dvds of mine. The steps I take are as follows:

1.) Use MactheRipper to rip the files from the disc

2.) Use dvd2xone to shrink the files down

3.) Use Toast Titanium 6 to burn the disc

However, when I go to burn the disc in Toast, it says the following:

    sense key=illegal request
    sense code= 0X30, 0X05
    cannot write medium=incompatible format

I have a Mac mini with an external plextor dvd burner drive
I don't think that it is the disc because I have tried both imation and memorex discs (both dvd-r)

if anyone has any tips, i would greatly appreciate it!

Man, I guess I didn't do too well with choosing dvd brands! Thanks for the post and I'll make sure to get a better quality disc.
