Well, a while back i had a Mac, I still have it but it wont boot, and i have a lot of music on there i would like to get back. I'm pretty sure i know whats wrong with it, though I do not know how to fix the problem. what i did was i deleted a users folder without going into the control panel to remove a user. So when i reboot, i figure its trying to load something thats not there.

Any suggestions on how to recover my mac, preferably without wiping the drive?

just use the restore disks if you still have them you dont have to wipe the drive should keep it all and if thats not the problem it will fix other boot problems

if u have access to another mac, u can link them by firewire cable and start up the mac holding down the T button, this turns it into an external drive and u can access all ur files and move them. Then reintall osx
