My MacBook air wont turn on, i press the on button, light comes on, screen goes white with apple symbol and spinning thing, but it will just stay like that for ages, i thought of reinstaling mac with the back up disks but is there a way i can fix it with keeping my files. Thanks in advance
Please anyone i realy need some help with it, i think my friend had something like this on a windows pc he sed he turned it off while it was turning on(that was to cause it) , but please help Thanks in advance
The Bad News: You probably will need to reinstall the OS from the restore discs. The Good News: Most likely you will be able to get away with an Archive and Install. Archive and install reinstalls the OS and keeps the user data. A minimum of ~13 GB free disk space is needed. This issue appears to happen allot from bad Software updates or interrupted updates. The fix does take a few hours (longer if using a shared DVD opposed to external USB DVD). Go ahead, boot from the disks. Just read this first PLEASE: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710 You'll be up and running in no time ;-)
