Using taiyo yuden dvd-r. Usually use nero and all is fine but not with the madden games. Tried using decrypter but same problem. I have a mod chip and use the gameshark and swap trick to play all other games but I am really having an issue here. Can anyone help? thanks in advance
It's a backup. And the madden games are one of the few that I am unable to get right. Tried nero and decrypter, I even tried to rebuild it thinking it might work.
i had some trouble with backup ea games when i was doing the 2007 sports games. what helped me was to rebuild with xpert and burn at half the max speed of the dvd-r that i was using. ofther than that im not sure how to help u mate.
Try using Alcohol 120%. If it doesn't work after that, it probably means you are doing something wrong. I backed up Madden 08 fine with Alcohol.
Tried img burn. Will try alcohol 120 though and let you know. Don't think I can be doing anything wrong since I just recently backed up the newer socom. And I did that on the fly with nero. thanks i will let you all know
Well I tried it and guess what? Another damn coaster. I guess I am going to believe that since I can't get a good answer from anyone, that it can't be done. I have 60+ games here and until the maddens not many problems. thanks for trying
comminup had a good answer, did you try rebuilding the game with gnie's xpert tool like he mentioned. A few EA games are like that,and need rebuilding to work.
Yes I believe I already specified that. Anyway I also tried someones outrageous thread of making an iso then using isobuster then using cd/dvd gen then using apache then nero and same thing. Just for the heck of it I also tried to back up ghost recon advanced warfighter and I have the same issues. Going crazy here, I just want to understand the problems for the future and how to get around them.
By the way, I don't want to play these games online just at home so I hope this might save a few steps or will I still need to patch?
try patching the iso with the pal to ntsc patcher with y fix http://www.geocities.com/jayteemaster2003/ then burn with img burn just choose ntsc on black screen then game will fire

I know that this game has a patch for the Xbox and the PS3 but not the PS2. EA games are stubborn sometimes, because they don't want you to back up their games.
Thanks you guys. Tried them both and more and nothing. No boot screen for one. Tried the patch and that didn't work then I even tried rebuilding after the patch cause I saw that somewhere in here. Then tried the adr patch first the pal to ntsc then just the generic. It looks as if this game wasn't ment to be. No onto my new game ghost recon 3 that would let me do just an iso burn either. any help there?
You can do a search for Ghost Recon 3, probably find some info I am just curious what type of modchip do have, and what version PS2. And is it Gameshark and cogswap you are using to boot other games.
Ok the reason I asked, is that it is possible your way of booting backups may not be compatible with all games. For example Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter works fine with Swap Magic, like posted in this thread. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/568048 Some people use cogswap or cdloader to get games to boot, but again all games may not be compatible. So you may have to settle for that or just keep trying methods, then post if it works.
I finally got Madden 08 and backed it up, tried to boot it with Swap magic 3.8 and nothing. I have even tried it with the memor32 card and nothing. But I finally transferred it to hdd and it plays fine on Mode 3 with hdloader. Just thought I would add this info.
