Madden 10 verified with abgx360

Madden 10 verified with abgx360 but i checked the agbx360 database for the verified games and it says "693 Madden NFL 10 [Unofficial DB Name] RF 2009-08-14 23C51C8F 21BB783B 3rd"
what is that unofficial db name? I cant see that for any other game. Should i just wait?
And i am using the -nig version of the game is that one "safer"

 

Just because a game isn't in their database doesn't mean that it's a bad game. They just haven't added it yet, because they usually wait a few days after the official release. I personally will check the game, just to make sure it's legit. If it fails verification I'll still play it.

If you want to be safe, you better off waiting for each game to be released, or if you have a copy before release, wait till it's release so that abgx updates their database.

Because in reality we're not ever safe against M$!

 

I asked someone on their IRC page and this is what he/she said:

Well if the person that posted isn't verified that means its their first game they have posted and probably not reliable...right?Like ufc and the other games that turned out to have bad crc's

 

I downloaded it and the iso verified. I don't think it would be on the list if it wasn't safe to play. He seemed to imply that it had something to do with the name of the game.

This is what they said about that UFC/Red Faction snafu on the website:

We apologize for this but this is a new type of corruption which seems to be associated with ripping via a certain USB->SATA adapter (not 100% sure of the cause yet) and DMI is now scanned for this corruption before being accepted into the database (so it won't happen again).

Mine checked out! I was getting "stealth unverified this morning". I started to give up and dload another version, BUT, after running ABGX just right now, I get all green!!

"All CRC's match" & Verification was successful!" & "Stealth check passed!"

Legit right!? Damn well better be cause I'm popping this in as soon as it burns !!

 

i dont think he read your post before answering lol. i asked about this earlier in the other madden thread. ive never seen a title like that from the database so im a little sketchy about it too.

 

That's what i am saying...i hope its good because there are going to be a ton of people playing the game today, but i am going to wait even if i need to wait a few more days. What version of the game do you have?

the very first release... I think it was last Friday or Thursday.

 

i originally had the nuked version but now i have the NIG version. i agree with waiting- something seems off here.

 

I don't trust this at all, because after patching the NiG release with abgx360, the CRC of the PFI and DMI files now match up perfectly with those of the nuked ARROGANE release that was stolen from P2P.

They shouldn't use anyone that isn't 100% trusted IMO, because by doing that the integrity of the database is compromised.

That was the nuked release, so if it checked out 100% in abgx360 then something definitely isn't right. It could be that ARROGANE's release was legit and NiG's isn't, but I highly doubt it as ARROGANE have had 5 releases nuked for being stolen from P2P or other scene groups, while NiG have never had a game nuked for any reason.

 

I downloaded the nig release and it failed verification 1st time but autopatched. You do have a point about this being a weird situation. The Nig nfo also raised some concerns. damn you, i think you just convinced me to wait a few days..

 

better safe than sorry. plus im sure most of us madden freaks have 09 to hold us a few more days

Not safe to play? So for those w/ the NIG release, it doesn't pass abgx checks? What yall planning on doing? Downloading another release or just keep running it through ABGX til it recognizes it?

 

Not necessarily. It just means that the release does not conform to the scene rules. In this case it was nuked for being stolen from P2P, so there's no way of knowing what the source is, therefore it is not safe to play.

Whichever release you have, you'll want to run it through abgx360, and while the verification is still in doubt, there's no point in going for a different release. I'm just going to wait and hopefully some more verified rips of the game will be added to the database. Better to be safe than sorry IMO.

 

I'm not understanding why agbx says madden 10 is ok but the community (myself included) don't think it's safe....

 

The people behind abgx360 do make mistakes occasionally. The only reason I'm waiting is because I'm not 100% sure what they mean by "Unofficial DB Name", even after reading the response from their IRC channel above, and because some of the stealth files match those from a release that was nuked for being stolen from P2P once the ISO had been autofixed. The game could be absolutely fine, but it's not worth risking a ban over IMO.

 

Is they have 'unofficial' or something in the title, it's because the game hasn't been released yet.

NiG release should be fine rip-wise. rrt/Arrogane release is unverified as being a retail rip and so should be avoided if you want to be careful.

Of course we don't really understand 100% of what gets us banned, but you have to wonder if playing even a legit rip before release day might increase your chances.

I personally don't risk playing a game before release.
