Are they +R/RW or -R/RW disks
If + or - R Did you Finalize them. They must be, to play on most other machines

    Edit
    What machine is it

Yes the discs went through the finialzation. I have a JVC DR-mv7
    any other ideas?
I did use a DVD+r and one DVD-R and both are RW,would that make a difference? Should I not be using RW discs?
Whats odd is that it plays back in the machines that I burned it in.

    Thanks again

    Sorry for the late reply
I do not have a JVC DR-mv7 but the unit should work as advertised and burn both +R/RW or -R/RW disks. JVC lists this as a new machine that burns + or - disks
The + RW disks should not be finalized. I doubt the Unit would do so.
The other DVD units might not accept a + disk but should accept a - disk.
I assume that they accept a commercial disk and work ok.
The use or R or RW disks should not make any difference.

I have had problems with a specific unit that is supposed to burn a - disk and won't even recognize many disks.
By your posts it would seem that you do not have this problem
Try playing the burned disks in another player (someone else)

As to playing OK in the JVC unit it could be a prociedure problem and you feel the disks are finalized when they are not, and as said the other units may not accept + disks

hi, i have a friend with a dvd-r that she put a home video on and did not finalize. She no longer has access to the player she used to create the disk. Is there a program that can do this on a computer? Or am I about to tell her she is screwed. thanks in advance.
