Tool C doesn't work on the latest Silver slimline PS2. Tool D has to be used after opening it up - therefore breaking the warranty seal.

Is this also the case with the latest Black slimline PS2? Tool C doesn't work anymore on it?

So Tool D has to be used for ALL the latest slimline PS2's no matter what colour?

    Thanks. :)

I started a thread about this earlier but it disappeared for some reason.

    Thanks a lot. :)

(I know about Magic Swap 3.6, good media and good speed, etc)

Ok Ill say it clear and simple,

Black Ps2 = Tool C can fit and no warrenty wasted

Silver Ps2 = New Cover so they modified it a bit so Tool C doesn't fit

Either you void your warrenty which i'd never do , or you switch your silver on with a black ps2 and save some money

Actually, they're on page 2... this is the third post you've made about this.

Try reading the forum rules... especially about multi-posting, it could get you banned.

As for your post, it was hard to work out whether you were providing info or asking for help... next time try putting it in a question format.. eg, Does tool c fit on the newer slimline ps2? or do I have to use tool d?

Thanks 3dluis. I already knew WHY the Silver one needs Tool D, I just needed to know if the Latest Black verion also now needs Tool D. I live in the UK by the way. I have read about a couple of people saying that Tool C doesn't work with the Black version anymore and that the design is now the same as the Silver one but I guess maybe they just had trouble installing Tool C so made an assumption. So you're sure that Tool C can be used with the latest Black Slimline PS2 (in the UK)?

paddymail, I know the rules. You know exactly why I started this, because I thought the other one disappeared/got deleted. Every forum I'm on keeps new threads at the top (page 1) for at least a day no matter how popular/unpopular, etc. The first one disappeared within hours or didn't appear when I started it in the first place. I started 2 but you and 3dluis both have seen 3 or 4 of them so maybe there was some sort of error.

As for you finding it "hard to work out whether you were providing info or asking for help" and "next time try putting it in a question format". I don't know why you found it so hard to work out what I meant, it was pretty simple. Also, there was a question mark at the end of my questions so I think that qualifies as being "in a question format". Please feel free to read it again.

I state what I know already about the Silver version, then I ask questions about the Black version, whether the same applies to it. Simple as that. :)

    Have a look here 3dluis:

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/230654

That and other threads show that you are wrong I'm afraid. At least some Black slimline PS2's have the same design - a metal piece blocking the place where Tool C would go.

I'll have to buy Magic Keys 2 or open up my brand new slimline PS2 after buying it. :(

I didn't ignore the rules. I explained it already. I don't mean to be rude but you really have a hard time understanding things. I would guess it's because you're just glancing at what I post and not actually reading. It disappeared very very soon, or didn't appear at all, so I started one thinking there was some error the first time.

Secondly, I don't know about you, but I find it a little bit difficult to know the model number [bold]before[/bold] I've bought something. :)

So your theory is that my thread 'spilled' to the next page because loads of people started a thread within minutes of me starting mine? No. The funny thing is this is one of the least visited/popular, probably [bold]the[/bold] least visited/popular forum I use so I know that's not true.

I'll accept your apology and I'll assume for the whole thing, thanks.

I suggest you read this post twice just to make sure you read it right.
    Bye

No, I was going to flame you for the latest post... but you're not worth it.. I have better things to do with my time. Suffice to say that I won't try and help you if you have any problems in the future.. you seem to think you know better anyway, so I'll let you get on with it.
Oh and as for having a hard time understanding things... I never had a problem with anyone else's post that I helped them on in all the time I've been on here.... and they managed to post it in the correct forum... or did you not understand that dvd backup meant backing up dvd's???
As for the whole multi-posting thing, the threads on page 1 are the ones which have been updated most recently..including ones that are new and ones which people have replied to.. so yes it is very possible that after posting your thread could be way down the list or on the next page within minutes of you posting it... which it was, that's why I and others found 4 posts in total from you about the same thing.

I give up... Won't bother trying to help anyone or point out anything anymore. It's not worth my time with some people...

Don't bother replying as I won't be back on here to see it...

Ok I live in the UK also and my ps2 slimline is black, i got it when it first released, and Tool c fits perfectly, tool a always kept coming off so i just put some sticky tape there and , thats all you need and it should work,

    BTW - TIPS

    1) if you get the Magic Switch, Normal, not the pro, tool c goes in between the black 2 skinny things and push it all the way down

2 ) if you get Magic Switch PRO, Put it in the silver thing just right of the 2 skinny black things

Feel free to ask anymore questions if your need more help

    Regards,

    3dluis

    Thanks 3dluis.

paddymail didn't really understand (and still doesn't) and is going on about f knows what! :). I want to back ups PS2 games which need tools to play. This does belong here, you want me to put it in the DVD-Video forum??? :) :)

As I explained (twice already), I started 2 threads, the second because the first disappeared (I explained this also), and that 4 may have appeared (YOU said 3, another said FOUR) due to errors on the website or my PC. It seems s/he doesn't have a hard time understanding, it's just s/he doesn't actually read things fully. You say you're not bothered but you try to have a go. You edited one of your posts here to delete what you posted a couple of hours after I replied! You said: "I give up... Won't bother trying to help anyone or point out anything anymore." I'm sure many will appreciate that. :) I'll bother to reply if I want, just like you did.

    Okay, end thread.

No, this belongs in the ps2 hardware discussion thread... who said anything about dvd video forum?? ...what a twat!!!

I only posted in the first place to just let you know that you might get some stick off the moderator for multi-posting... and yes i did mis-understand your question as it didn't seem very clear to me. I have since said that I was mistaken and yes it was an ok question, but in the wrong forum.... and you have to start being all cocky and saying stuff like "feel free to read it again etc etc"

Don't worry, I'm not going to repeat myself, I think my previous posts will have you baffled for a while.

    As I said: End thread.
