I’ve seen a plethora of authoring/recoding packages out there and have narrowed it down to two, after trying the demos. I see a lot of talk about Slysoft's AnyDVD/CloneDVD, which I’ve tried. But I haven’t seen much on Magic's MagicDVDRipper/MagicDVDCopier, which I’ve also tried. They’re both seemingly good packages and are within $10 of the same price.

My question is which package would offer me the best results in the long run? With Magic, it’s lifetime email tech support and one year free upgrades. With Slysoft, it’s one year tech support and lifetime free upgrades.

    Any and all opinions welcome.

I use AnyDVD, I would assume there wouldn't be much competition between the two....but there are also several free methods, here are two:

hold on here before you make your choice , yes anydvd is definatly the best decrypter around ... but i have tested all these products intensly and the magic product are not to be underestimated ,

this depending on what your needs are ,, magic copier is as simple as 1click dvd , but without the hassle of cprx as of late (updates) , also you do not need a seperate decrypter which saves you money but i will say is no good if you do use any other burning applications well backup utils (get anydvd)... as for the ripper this is also a great tool which will also let you convert to the likes of avi or even just rip to the hard drive with compression etc ....

dont get me wrong im not doubting clonedvd as i have all of these programs mentioned above plus more ,, but they all need a fair comment ,,, if you want alittle extra from your backups then clonedvd may be for you....

i have also found a discount available for magic !!!

    [bold]http://www.ultimate-dvdr.com/forum-news-information/756-author-magic-dvd-software-offers-15-discount-ultimate-dvdr-members-new-post.html[/bold]

copy and paste the bold text into your search engine ;)

if you search around on forums or even maybe here :) there also may be a discount code avalable for the slysoft products...

    :)
