I'm running XP SP2. I've got major lag on the log into user and just hangs for no reason at all sometimes and has to be reseted. i've got a 400gb hard drive and its just over a 1/4 full. I've defragged it, countless virus scans and still no reaon why... Has anyone got any suggestions or know of any software that could solve this? Much appreciated.
Post a HijackThis! log and we'll see what it shows. Also how long does it usually hang? And how many programs do you have starting on startup?
I don't have much loading up besides anti virus, MSN, Zonealarm and popup stopper Here's the log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 05:43:24, on 17/09/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16512) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXPService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\avp.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTSvcCDA.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\GEARSec.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\mdm.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\PowerQuest\Drive Image 7.0\Agent\PQV2iSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\MsPMSPSv.exe C:\Program Files\Webroot\Washer\WasherSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Raxco\PerfectDisk\PDSched.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Intel\NCS\PROSet\PRONoMgr.exe C:\Program Files\Panicware\Pop-Up Stopper\dpps2.exe C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe C:\WINDOWS\CTHELPER.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\svdhost.exe C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\avp.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\usnsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\WINZIP\winzip32.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 -
