Every time I install Nero 7 my video is all messed up. I download a movie doesn't matter which movie when I play it on nero7 or burn it off to a disc the picture is seriously messed up. The pixelation is the worst. Its as if the picture is scrambled. What should I do?

How does the file play on the pc - all ok there?

In Vision do you get a message saying something like 'video has more PAL than NTSC' and 'would you like to keep the format PAL' (something along those lines). If you do and you're in an NTSC region (US, Canada) click no and Vision will convert it to NTSC.

What version of Nero 7 are you using?

Ok - what version of Nero are you using? If not using the latest 7.10.1.0 give that one a go.

Here's another program to try - it's free - DivXtoDVD.
Save it to your hard drive then you can use Nero Burning Rom or Express to burn the video_ts folder.
Burn at 1/2 the rated speed of the media.

To check the version you have open SmartStart & in the upper left hand corner click on 'nero' this will take you to product setup. The version # will be listed there under update and you can also check to see if any updates are available.
Burning Rom will list the 'whole' version # that you have.

What media are you using? Burn speed?

When using the divx program set the standard to the tv format you are in like PAL for Europe, NTSC for US & Canada.

It worked but I was wondering is it supposed to take so long? The Divx takes 4 hours to convert that seems normal but when burning with nero it takes 7 to 8 hour just to burn the disc? I'm happy it works cause I can watch my movies I'm just not happy it takes so long. My comp is old and crappy but I wasn't sure if thats why it takes so long. But I do thank you for all your help.

Yep the computer being on the old side could do it - it probably doesn't have the fastest cpu or a ton of ram. So that can plays into the speed.

If you haven't been keeping up on the pc maintenance that could help some.
Clean out all the dust inside the case. Turn the pc and take off the case - blow it out with some canned air.

Do a disc defrag, disc cleanup, registry cleaner and virus scan.
Here's a good free registry cleaner if you need one - ccleaner. Use the issues and cleaner options.

Oh and not a problem on the help.

Thank you so much that did it. I burnt a movie off in less than 30 mins. You are truly my computer hero!

Glad that helped you out kitty420
That stuff is good to do on a regular basis to try and keep the pc running smooth. Cleaning the inside though can be done like every 6 months.
