Hey, i'm using Memorex 4.7 gig DVD+R's(I know they're crappy) and i want to burn a data-disk for my drawings but every time I attempt to burn none of the programs ever work. I'm using Roxio 9 on a Vista OS.

I know i'm a little stingy with the details but i'm a newb and on a serious time constraint 2 1/2 hours from this posting is when it must be done. Please please help.

Try slowing your burn speed down to 4x.

Same response as before, it won't make it past the "reserving track" step.

I would suggest trying to upgrade the firmware of your drive. If you do not know how to do it, please post your make and model of your computer (or drive make and model if it is custom built) and we will go from there.

Use Imgburn to update your drive's firmware.

Tools > Drive > Check for firmware update

And without decent blank media, one will find trouble constantly. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

It's a HP Compaq SR5110NX. It's not allowing me to access the drive.
