Make DVD using a CD-RW???

I've heard there is a way you burn media files from your computer onto a cd using CD-RW and watch it in a DVD player. How do you do this??? I have Nero and tried several times burning the media files as a Video CD, Mini-DVD cd and more and it still doesnt work. my dvd player says "cd does not have playback function" or something.

please help im new to this concept and want to watch music videos ive downloaded on my tv !

If you're using the up2date nero, then you'll need 'nerovision express 3' to burn your vcds & whether or not the vcd plays depends on the type of dvd player you have

 

Ok so my music videos are in .mpg format - do I need to convert or encode them in some way before burning them as VCD?

 

nope, open the nve, choose the option of making a vcd, add the video files and that's it.
