I just had a question about mp3 files. My cd's do not work in my car cd player, i heard that you can convert the mp3 files. I usually download with azureus. They are usually high quality 192kbps-320kbps Can i convert the mp3's to a format that plays in car cd players?

there's no need to convert the mp3 files. use a burning app like nero to make an audio cd and nero automatically converts the files into pcm audio which all cd players can read.

I tried nero before, everytime i tried to drag the file into nero an error message always appeared and said something like can not add file, format is not supported. How do i fix this then?

load up nero, select make audio cd, click "add" and then you have to find the directory where the mp3's are you want to add, make sure the total time of the mp3's doesn't exceed 80 mins or what ever capacity disc you plan to use and then you should be able to burn the cd.

That is strange. It's either that the MP3's you're downloading aren't real MP3 files which in that case click on the 3rd link in my sig and download the program called Encspot. I doubt it's that though. Or it's a problem with Nero. Is there any other things you can't to with Nero.

That I know of, that is the only thing i can not do with Nero. It isnt just me though, my girlfriend can not do it either, and a couple of my friends told me once before that they had the same problem with Nero.

So since nero will not work for me, i want to use a converter..what is a good one to use? I just want to convert my files, (which some are 192kbps).. to the highest quality possible, that also play in my car cd player. What quality should i encode them too, FLAC?

converting the mp3 files into another format is un-necessary and still won't correct the problem you have with nero. make an audio cd with another burning program and see if it works or not.

I bet you are not downloading MP3 files, they are either ra or ram files. Nero definately works very well, and does not convert or allow you to burn these files. I had the same problem, and I converted them using a free software, which I don't remember but will let you know later when I am on the other computer. The only problem I had was converting these (ra & ram) files to MP3 format using these free program (but then it could be my own fault). Let me put it this way Nero is too stable and has too many users for it to screw up as you describe it.
I converted ra & ram files to wav files and burnt them using Nero. Works like a charm.

They have .ra or .ram extensions. The converting software I used is dBpower AMP music converter. I hope this helps.
