my boyfriend gave me a 160Gb Hard Drive for my computer but when he formatted it it now only holds 31Gb, can a turn it back to 160Gb?
go to control panel>administrative tools>computer management. click on disk management and find your new drive. you can then use that program to change the partition to the full capacity of the drive.
check the jumpers on the drive as appears it is configured for 32gig. there should be info on the top of the drive & maybe a booklet. who makes the hd?
i never jumper for 32gig, strictly jumper for master or slave but seen info on top of lots of hd's i've done
yeah i've seen that too....wonder why the manufacturer's put that option on there. why would you only want to utilize part of a HD? interesting...
or maybe for other OS like ones large companies use that are way less sofiscicated than windows, and can only read so much data or something...who knows
