to shrink a movie you have to encode it again, but when you're encoding it, lower the bitrates of the audio and video and that should reduce the size of the mp4. if you want to take an extra step you can reduce the resolution as well.

Hi. regarding converting a movie to PSP I have spent toooooo much time figuring out how to do. I finally succeeded converting a movie called "the naked gun" (comedie). I used DVD shrink according to Sudds instructions and after that I used PSP Ware. A very cheap program. I didn´t succed with PSP Video 9. Too many settings!!!. With PSPWare the program takes care of the settings, I´m happy with this!!!

*evasen* Glad the guide helped you mate, i was a big PSPWARE fan until i got PSPvideo9, bear in mind that with PSPWARE ur file sizes will be big and ur movies encoded in MPEG4-SP which is fine if ur firmware is below V2.00 but any higher, u should consider encoding in AVC.

Sudds. But what is really SP and AVC? Are they different formats?

But if using the PSP video 9 instead, how do I know what settings to make? There are so many and I tried some setting but I failed. There are no instructions.

I know how to convert normal files/DVDs to PSP. But I don't know how to convert MKV file? I have read some tutorials about this, which took so much steps and programs to do it. So Sudds, is there any programs that will do this for me. Cause many of my anime episodes already in H264 format with dual audio and dual subtitles. May I have an option to choose which one I want?

IMMTOO DVD TO PSP CONVERTER can burn whatever subtitles and audio you choose into your MP4 file.

IMTOO only allow me to rip DVD. What I was talking about is converting MKV files on my PC to play it on PSP. For information, MKV is also a container like MP4 and can have multiple audio and subtitle insidee it!

Sudds. I tried your recommended link before and thats where I got stuck. If I copy a movie from TV it does't show what kind of
ratios it is (1:85 or 2;35).
    My PSP is version 2.00
