I want to make a USB adapter for my modded xbox and from what i have read on various sites it quite simple. My question is, will my xbox (running XBMC) detect my external harddrive when plugged in to the adapter? And if so, will i be able to run games backed up on the drive? Thanks for the help.
No.. it doesn't work like a pc. The xbox front ports are only controller ports. You can use them as standard usb ports with some linux trickery, but not for games.
ok then. I guess i just need to break down and buy a new harddrive because i have about 4 games on my computer that i have to ftp over to the xbox one at a time to play. And that definately isnt a fun method for just popping in a game, especially after you do it 20 times. But thanks again for the help.
I recall reading that you can solder USB ports into your Xbox which would allow you to use an external HDD, but that is far from an easy method and it'd probably run kind of slow, too.
