I agree with aabbccdd......... but will ad Booktype/bitsetting to make your DVD+R/RWs more compatible with most DVD players. check out this link and look at #12: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136

since you have DVDDecrypter ...... try to set your booktype ...... hit TOOLS ....... DRIVE...... CHANGE BOOKTYPE.... locate your drive manufacturer and go from there. good luck. Some drives can't be booktyped but if you can it makes all the diff.

    Booktype them my friend!

The pc,drive that burns the backup, should be able to play the backup! That playback should be near perfect. After the pc,those stand alones come into play because that is where they will mainly be viewed in!

Some of those players can be picky,so a switch to high quality media may be the fix. Sounds like you have the classic: "No Disc Inserted" error on your stand alone player. This player does not recognize your backups. Here's a few things to try:

1)Depending on your model # of dvd-rw drive, booktype the plus media to dvd-rom.

2)If your burner does not feature that booktyping ability, try the opposite format.

3)High quality media/sensible 4x burn speed max. Some of those picky players may not care for certain brands/format of media.

That's just the start of many other things that can also be the problem.Could be burn software, stand alone player may need cleaned/or last resort, new stand alone player. Some burners are also weeker than others, meaning more stand alones will have problems recognizing them, verses a quality burner.

    4 quick questions:

What is your burner's brand name and model#?
What is the current firmware version of the burner?
What is the MID code for those blank discs?
What is the brand name and model # of that stand alone player?

Use this free handy tool to find that info to find #1-#3:

Saugman; Also I forgot to mention I have even tried to copy the ISO files using CloneDVD. I am using Verbatim disc's they have worked well in the past.
    Burner Model-AOPEN DUW1608/ARR up to date firmeware-080
Stand alone is Samsung DVD-P241 plays MP3,DVD,CD,CDR/RW you name it, it will play it except those coasters I have been making. I checked the book type link did not see any thing for AOPEN specific.
Will by some new dics and give it a try.

    What format are those verbatims?
Are those the same format when you were succussfully playing your backups.

Verbatim has several different manufacturers. Mcc-002/Mcc-003/Ricohjpn-r01/and reports of cmags on their plus format. That's at least 4 different MID codes using the verbatim brand name in the plus format.I've run into MCC-002 and Ricohjpn-r01 when I purchased 3- 30 pack spindles of data life +4x in identical packaging.

Try that dvdidentifier I linked you to earlier.Find the MID codes of some of those verbs that worked before, and the verbs now and see if that MID code changed. Maybe your samung is having problems reading a certain MID code.I've seen that quite a few times myself. Post back those codes.

I don't know if AOpen can booktype.Sometimes manufacturers may have a utility for that to download so check out the manufacturers web site.
