I have some burned DVD-Rs of transferred from VHS TV episodes(approx. 6 episodes/3 hrs. per disc). They were done on a standalone DVD recorder and look very nice. But they just run right after the other, have some commercials, no menus. What would be the easiest way in Nero 6.6.0.18 to:
    1. Rip the entire disc in.
    2. Make each episode its own title(edited to exact start/stop frames, with no commercials).
    3. Capture a still frame and make a graphic boot-up menu("splash screen") for disc with episode selection buttons, etc.
In other words, trim the fat off the basic disc, and make a new re-authored really nice looking, near-commercial released DVD...Thank you for any help...

This can be done with either Nero Recode or DVD Shrink in re author mode. Both progs available in software section.

Yeah, I figured that I'd probably use the Shrink re-author mode, except: will I be able to edit out a few minutes of commercials within the episode and have it "re-authored" as just ONE title without splitting it up into pieces?
    AND
what easy to use program could capture a still from the DVD and make an interactive title selection graphic menu upon DVD strartup?
