I am trying to use NeroVision Express to record several mkv files to dvd. I have found that by using windows media player I can save the mkv files as avi files.

When I try to add either the mkv or avi files to the project Nero shows the adding video window popup. When Nero finishes adding the popup disapears and Nero then freezes and gives me a busy cursor.

These videos have been encoded by XviD and I have no problem getting Nero to play the videos.

I am using Nero OEM 6.6.1.4 and NVE 3.1.0.25
If some one can tell me where the error log is stored, I will post it.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

I did as you described but I get the exact same problem.
The NeroHistory file does not exist on my computer.
My program versions are now: Nero OEM 6.6.0.18 and NVE 3.1.0.21

I have also tried this on my desktop computer with the same results.

    Thanks

gwen the patch doesnt always work.Wondering if it has something to do with the clean tools not always working properly and still leaving some residual files behind.Maybe a clean install is thge only way and then re installing the nero suite

    The patch did not work.

Is there a better version of nero?
Maybe I should try some other software, any recommendations?

A little off topic: Does Nero support multiple audio tracks?

    Thanks for the help.

you might want to try using avi2dvd to convert those mkv files,
