Used smart ripper 2.41 to extract required files to HD. Checked ok using method described in instructions (audio played first, then video played when next button was selected. How do I combine the files so that the audio and video track together so that I can burn the movie to a DVD?
You are on the right tracks forget about the audio your burning software will take care of it.If your using nero just go to create dvd and put all the files you ripped in to the video_ts file and then burn.If the files are over 4.7gb you will need to sueeze them using dvd2one or something simular. If you get hold of a copy of clone dvd you can forget nero and dvd2one as this will do it all once you have ripped it with smart ripper. Thanks John.
Which version of Nero should I download and what type of disk would I be creating? I downloaded one but couldn't see a tab for creating a DVD.
Nero 6 is the best one to use. When you open nero you should come to New compilation at the top at the top you can click to cd or dvd make sure your on dvd.Click on the multisessions to make sure it is set to no mulisessions. You may as well check iso while your at it click on it if there are any ticks in the boxes just untick by clicking on them. Now you know all the settings are right click on the icon dvd video. Then click new where you screen should change.Simply put all the files you ripped in to the video_ts file on the left. You can find the files you ripped to a folder using the browsers to the right of the screen.Once you have all your files in place burn them making sure you have a empty dvd disc in the writer and simply clicking the burn icon which is a lit match in front of your disk at the top of the screen.Remember to make sure the foles are not bigger than the 4.7gb disc your giong to burn them to. Thanks John.
Is it possible to use the demo version of Nero? I have downloaded the demo of version 6 but can't find the DVD button. Perhaps I have to purchase the complete software package. I have a Sony DVD writer but the software I have seems a bit confusing SonicMyDVD and Nero seems to be the software of choice as per most of the people on this site. I really appreciate your help.
I think you will need a full version as the demo mode will limit you plus after you have opened the programme a few times it will lock up and ask you to register.I have been backing my films up for some time now and find it really easy but when i was starting off like yourself i used smartripper and clone dvd.You see most films you will need to squeeze which means using nero you would need to use a third party software on top of smartripper and nero.I use clone dvd all the time as this is all you need to use along with smartripper and it is so easy to use.I have used all the softwares another easy one to use is dvdxcopy which is a one click programme.I also know sevral people with sony dvd writers and this software does work with the sony's Thanks John.
