Hi, I recently tried to burn a VCD, I made the menu's and everything. It burned and when I popped it in the DVD player I couldnt choose any of the menu buttons. When I pressed the "next" button (to skip to the next chapter of the video) it went to page 2 of the menu/page 3. I have Nero Version 6,3,0,2 I think. But it all worked properly when I put it in the DVD player on my computer, menu and all.

I was wondering if it was the file type? Does it need to be MPEG-1 format? I used an AVI file.

    Thanks

When you went through the burning procedure did it go through a encoding process. Hmmmmm if it was the whole 80mins of footage, then it couldve taken 45-80 mins to convert. If it didnt take this long then it didnt convert it for some reason, nero normally encodes it to Standard VCD format. Give plain ol'Nero a go just the basic Nero.exe.

Or just try pressing 1,2,3,4 or any of the numbers on your DVD remote to select each of your videos. Because what it can do is create separate Titles on the DVD and then there are chapters within the titles, very annoying if you dont have a menu.

If yah want to convert it before you put it into Nero then i would recommend TMPG ENC

Hmm, now im really confused. I put the DVD in to try out pressing the numbers. And this time the menu didnt show. I pressed play and the movie started playing but I couldnt select the chapters.

I turned it on and off again to see what would happen and I got the same thing. So now the menu isnt coming up. I guess I would rather have the movie then the menu though. its very weird.
