I donwloaded some video clip files and avi files. However they r all really dark in the dark spots and NOT bright where its supposed to be bright. How can i increase the overall brightness of the files? Is there a program that can all me to do this?

    Thanks in advance

AVISynth, but you need to re-encode. For MPEG-2 it is possible without re-encoding though.

A lot of people seem to have problems with AVISynth, so you might also want to check out VirtualDub. Like AVISynht it has video filters for adjusting brightness.

if this is for pc playback i think you can just increase the brightness during playback using filters, such as those in ffdshow.

really, people need to learn avisynth
