making wireless internet faster?

    any one have a idea to make my wireless internet faster? my router is kind of far away. but i have a new(er)(ish) router. it is a netgear. it is about 1 year old.

    Well I assume you mean boost your wireless signal strength because you can't actually make your internet faster. To boost your wireless signal strength without moving your existing router you could purchase/create a wireless repeater. In laymons terms it is a device that grabs,in most cases, the strongest wireless signal; and then amplifies it and rebroadcasts that signal. I have one such device setup in the corner of my bedroom, it grabs the wireless signal from the wireless router in the basement, amplifies it and broadcasts it across the upper half of the house.

    You could also try changing your wireless channel, this has worked for many with same problem. Also if other people who live in your area also have a router with same channel, it is known to conflict s therefore reduced signal strength.
