Hello, I have been using Malwarebytes great. But recently it just couldn't remove the virus anymore. There are 2 problems.

    1. When Malwarebytes finishes scanning and shows the result, how many files are infected, I click remove - the program freezed and stopped working. I have to end the program and restart the computer. And I have to restart the program and rescan again. And yes, once it finishes and I click removed, it was freezed again. I can't remove the viruses.

    2. Continue from the first problem, I kept scanning and removing the virus, after 7-8 times, it looks like it worked (Malwarebytes completed the scan and removed the virus). But I still feel that my computer is not working properly, so I tested it. I opened up Malwarebytes and started the scan again. After the scan finished, it was still showing that there were 3 infected files. I clicked "removed" and it removed the virus. Then I tested it again by restarted the computer and ran Malwarebytes scan again, and it was still showing that there were 3 infected files again. It seems like it could not remove these viruses. Please help. Thank you so much !

    Hi team59,

Since you have not posted a HJT Log, I have no idea what is wrong. My Crystal Ball isn’t working very well today… [IMG]

The first thing to do is run an offline scan. This will take care of most of the problems and we can go from there..

    AntiVir Rescue disk

Using a clean computer download and burn a rescue disk from here:
    http://www.free-av.com/en/products/12/av...cue_system.html

Then use this guide to clean your machine:
    http://forum.avira.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=82163

After cleaning with Avira, post a HijackThis Log and state any problems you may have…

Hi 2oldGeek, thank you so much for your help. I tried to burn the Avira into CD, but couldn't (when I doubled clicked the downloaded file, the small window came up, but it said "No support burning device found". So I couldn't even choose any drive to burn. Anyway, I went ahead and run the hijackthis.

But before I post the log, another problem that I have now is when I turned on my computer, after the window started up, 2 seconds later, the screen turns blue and there is this message:

A problem has been detected & window has been shut down to protect damage to your computer

    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this sceen appears again, follow these steps: ................ (long message)..........

    --------------------

I really appreciate your help. Thank you so much again!

    team59,

Your machine has a lot of infection. You cannot make an Avira Rescue disk from it.. You must use a machine that is not infected. Get a friend to make you a disk and then run it on your infected machine following the instructions that I gave you the link for..

Almost every single BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) issue is a hardware or driver issue.
That is a problem that may be resolved with the Avira disk or we will deal with it later.

Run the Avira Rescue Disk post a new HJT Log and let me know the outcome…

    Hello 2oldGeek,

I finally managed to get my friend to burn me the CD. I tried to restart and yes, the window started in stead of the CD. I tried the F12 and Del, it still didn't boot, but instead the screen changed and said "Booth Device Menu" - 1.Normal 2.Primary Master Drive 3.Diskette Drive 4.Hard Disc Drive...5,6,7 and 8 Boot to Utility Partition. Can you please suggest what I need to do to get the disc run in my computer.

By the way, on the link (guide) that you told me, it also said "If the Rescue CD does not work, disable floppy disk and try again" - is this what I need to do? And if yes, "how do I disable the floppy disk". Please advice .. thank you very much

Sorry for the trouble, I right click to open the explore, then right click on drive A, property and disable it. Now when I reopened the explore, the drive A was gone.

I tested again, trying to booth. And the program still doesn't work. When I pressed Del & F12, the 8 choices came up again. So I don't know how to get it work.

By the way, I should mention that when I inserted the disc and try to start up the window, after the window started to run, the whole screen went blank and does not thing to the computer. I could still see the green light blinking on the drive D, but the whole screen just went blank. However, once I ejected the CD, the window was up and starting to run again as normal.

Can you please advice on any possible alternative to run this rescue disc? I really appreciate it!

Your BIOS must be set to boot from the CD.. Different machines set differently. Google “how to set boot from cd on (your machine)” and see what you can find.. It would take me too long to try to walk you through a process like this and my pay grade is not up to it… : )

Hi 2oldGeek, I did the search and changed a few things. However, couldn't get the disc to boot. So I took my computer to a friend of mine who is an engineer. He fixed the problem for me and it looks like I am good now. Thank you so much for all you helps. Appreciate it.
