    hey jdilla
I'm having the exact same problem with manhunt. I'm beginning to think that Rockstar has put Fade protection on some copies of this game. The game never freezes up until it is saved and that is what fade protection does.
I've burned it with alcohol 120%, Nero, Dvd decrypter, Blindwrite and almost everything else out there and it still freezes .
I even tried to copy a copy. No success.
I have a Liteon dvd writer and use Swapmagic 2.0. Also, I copy to imation dvd-r's at 2x as that's the lowest speed my writer seems to write at.

you can just get a corrupt download sometimes anyway starsky and hutch still wont work with cogswaploader i have tried it out so i sent e-mail to jaytee and he replied saying he's looking into the possibility of modifying cdloader to work with starsky and hutch will let you know if he sends any more info

pudly, when i first back up manhunt using recordnow max v4.50(stomp) it did the same thing as you said; it will just hang when you went to save the game. i reburned it with dvd decrypter and that solved the problem, but the freezing still goes on when i run fast, or fight. i dont think rockstar has put anything in their games since alot of people with -r writers have succesfully backed up this game.-Devilhunt. i also sent an email to jaymastertee, and he simply reply that the only remedy he had for that game was cogswaploader, i told him it didnt work, but apparently other people have gotten the game to work with cogswaploader, well thats what they are telling him. as for me, i gave up trying to burn the stupid cogswaploader. i never got it to work, hopefully he fixes the problem with a new cdloader beta, or version. peace!

    ok
I got rid of the corrupted manhunt file and started a new game and everything was going along great until I got to the first save point in Fuelled By Hate.
Then, big surprise, when I tried to save, it hung up and I got another corrupted save file!!!
    Talk about frustrating.
I'm saving to an 8 mb Sony MagicGate memory card that I bought in a 2 pack a couple of years ago. Also using a version 5 ps2. I've tried both of these older memory cards. Perhaps i need newer cards?
Any help here would be appreciated.
And by the way jdilla, have you gotten any more corrupted save files and how far along in the game are you?

pudly1, im in the so called "white trash" level. you should try burning the game over again, this time.. i suggest you get a fresh image from the actual original game, since you have a corrupted file, in your backup. it doesnt have nothing to do with your memory cards, they shouldnt be the problem...the first backup of manhunt that i did was on memorex brand...the people in these forums suggested to try another brand.. switched to fujifilm... cant complain. like i said try burning the game again, and try a different media... and i strongly suggest dvddecrypter(newest version out) its never failed for me.cheers, and good luck.i also record at 2.4x since thats the slowest most of dvd+r drives can go. again good luck, if you run to more problems just post again, im sure people in here will help, theyve helped me in the past im sure theyll do the same for you ... peace!!!!!!!

What version of PS2 do ya have? Mine was getting stuck and very choppy also. I turned the adjustment wheel (the little white gear looking thing behind the "eye")a couple of clicks to the left and it sped up my load times but i still have problems with saving just like everyone else in this thread. You can try that, it may help, may not??

i had the same problem with manhunt that it didnt let me save,.. it said corrupted file or something like that. i deleted the file from my memory card and burn the game again from a fresh image.. meaning from the same gameitself... it worked with dvd decrypter.now im able to save. the choppy, and slowing down effect still happens. i really dont know what the last guy is talking about messing with the laser notch.. i wouldnt do it.
