Would it be a smart idea to delete all codecs off my machine and reinstall them one by one?

How do I get rid of Windows Media codecs, AVI decompressor, "ASF ACM/ICM" Handler, Mpeg handlers?

Is there a tool to manage all my codecs?

    Thanks

Its hard to say, but have a look in "Add & Remove Programs" and see if you can uninstall them from there. My advice would be to install the FFDSHOW or Nimo codec packs. These normally sort out any playback/sound problems I seem to be having.
