I have a lot of Disney DVD's that seem to be marked up pretty well (visual scratch lines etc.) Sometimes DVD Shrink will stop before the first quicky analysis. I believe that this means I am out of luck. Is there something else I can do? (Usually Decrytor will not rip the DVD if shrink can't do the analysis)

    Hi,

For discs that are damaged and can't be ripped no matter the software I'd suggest getting one of the scratch removal kits that are available. They come in two flavors, manual and motorized. My buddy bought one and it works reasonably well unless the scratches are pretty deep.

I believe DVDXRescue is a software solution that does a very nice job rescuing data from damaged discs as well.

Maybe a combination of the two?

If what the old sweat Nephilim's advice does not work and you really really want to save them all.You can check it out by asking googles as there is some places you can send them at a charge. But this is the last chance saloon if you get the drift as it is not always cheap. The more you send the cheaper it becomes.
