Mass Effect 2 is pissing me off.

Aand, here comes the rage.

I recently downloaded and successfully installed Mass Effect 2 with the Razor1911 fixes. I set it all up as stated in the online manuals. Aand...that's where things went awry.

The disk check won't disappear. And I know I replaced the MAss Effect 2 EXE in the Binaries folder with the right one.

I tried updating it with a patch from a site afterwards. No can do. Still disk check.

I have managed to get past the disk check once, but then comes the dreadful message: Mass Effect 2 IS NOT RESPONDING. I hate it.

What's worse is that the game seems to taunt me. After I close the not responding window, the game appears working...for 2 seconds before closing. I waited an hour. Nothing happened when I let the Game run that long. No change. I close it, and it taunts me again.

Please help me. How can I fix the game to make it playable?
