I already posted this in the PS2 general section here is a cut and paste:

ok, this is my first atempt at a modchip install. I hooked everything up like it showed in the pictures. i ran 22 awg for my ground. took me a few hours to do it all, so i was happy when i finally got it all installed and put back together. Well i pluged it in, and low and behold..... nothing, absolutely nothing. No fans, no lights, nothing. Im HOPING it is just the little reset/eject ribbon cable. It didnt look dmagaed. I guess my question is, do you think i killed my Motherboard? If i did, where is a good place to find another one, i have a V5-6.

    -update-

well i removed the modchip, and everything was working, so i tried my hand one more time at it, and it went without a hitch. So far this Infinity chip is great.
