Update the firmware for it, and see if Windows recognizes it. If not, delete the drive in Device Manager and/or delete your secondary IDE Channel, under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, in Device Manager. If none of that works, open your computer, pull out that trash burner, install a new burner, and deposit the trash burner in the garbage.
