Getting flooded with calls from 'The Technical Support Centre' because they have detected a problem with my PC. Finally asked the name of the person calling and it was 'Matt Anderson' - so I asked Matt why he was using the Apu Nahasapeemapetilon voice, and he got quite huffy. Things went downhill from there and I fear the Bombay Department of Hurt Feelings may be popping round.
No, the area where I live (Windsor area) is being flooded with these calls from these scammers. They attempt to get remote control of the PC to install their crap then ask for your Visa number to clean it out. The calls are coming in with a UK code. I have a family member who allowed them into a Virtual Machine just to keep them on the line for a while - he has a whimsical sense of humour.
thought so. i think we had 1 of those scammers try here at home last year & my mother told them to talk to her son as he is the 1 that works on the computers. they never called back for some strange reason.
tryed reverse charge calling the number just for fun.tryed telling them you dont even own a computer.try getting the phone number for this matt anderson and writing "for a good time call matt anderson" followed by the phone number on the wall of a public toilet.
I got a similar call, but they said that it was Windows Live Support. I told them that my computer was running Linux. She didn't know how to respond, so she hung up.
