Personally, I'd say the qoob Pro is the better option since it basically costs the same and is a hell of a lot more convenient in terms of booting back-ups since it's just a "pop the game into the GC and play" set-up.

Viper GC all the way. Qoob is nothing but disc error after disc error.

Don't want to be mean or anything, but everyone who says: Viper kills qoob, qoob sucks, Viper is better...There only saying that because thats the only mod chip they have, probally got viper early so they say other sucks, so more will join viper...then qoob came out and never got it. It could be my opinion, or it could be the truth..Who knows.

BTW im picking qoob, lots of sucsess storys.Any theres HARDLY any posts about Viper

I had some DRE until I adjusted the pot, and now everything works perfectly.

Besides, the qoob Pro has onboard flash memory that can be flashed via USB. As I recall, Viper only has enough memory for the bios and *maybe* a small dol file. My qoob Pro currently has GCoS 1.5 Teaser 3 (which is huge for a dol file), Ninjamod v2.0, qoob Pro bios 1.3a/1.3c, GCOM22, ngcdev ripper 0.2a, MP3 player, and some other stuff.

The whole Viper vs. qoob bit probably is because of the reasons you stated. However, based simply on features alone, qoob Pro is clearly the better option.

well I personnaly bought a viper GC, thinking it was the only chip, I like it, never had to touch the pot on my GC, very very easy install, only 4 wires and very easy to flash the chip.

I've never used the qoob sx/pro so I would'nt be able to say get it, but from my experience I would recommend using the viper

my mate has a viper and i have a qoob pro. i really couldnt care about the diffrence as long as both plays the burnt games, but he does like my qoob because it is so much more conveient to flash via usb and the intro screen is a bit queer on the viper he says. he didnt have to touch his pot but i had to crank my pot down to about 120 to mahe the games run hassle free, evn between 210 and 150 ohms i still had problems like the games would freeze or not work properly but now its all sweet.
