Just got our first IPOD for my son. It is suposed to be able to connect to his stereo and be played with the remote control. We cannot figure out how to get it to work. We tried to plug the Audio line in wire (small headphone type jack) but the headphone jack on the PC is bigger. We plugged the Audio line in to the 3-way video cable (red, white & yellow jacks) into the aux inputs on the back pf the stereo but nothing worked. Does anyone have one of these or know what I am doing wrong? TIA
Is 3 way video cable end the same size as a headphone jack, just with an extra band of metal? If it is then you can just plug that directly into the headphone jack of the iPod and it should play fine. You may have to switch the red and yellow cables though.
Thanks for the reply. We plugged the small end into the docking station and the Red & White ends to the back of the stereo. The Ipod was on but nothing came through the stereo. Do I need to do something else? TIA
I'm not really sure why it won't play, try putting the cable that your connecting it to your stereo with in the iPod's headphone jack. If it's the same size it should work no problem, if not you could just get a RCA cable from Radio Shaq or a similiar store for 10 dollars or less. I personally don't buy to many iPod-only gadgets. There are a lot of ways to do the same thing better, for less.
Well I use an RCA cable with the headphone like other end, or you could get an FM modulator. Just make sure it isn't a cigarette lighter type if you plan to use it in the house.
