i have a segate freeagent desktop 320g external h/drive. its about 8 months old. just recently the data would slowly dissapear from the system. i tried it on a different pc and all data was still there. when it happened again i unplugged the drive and powered back up, data still there. so i downloaded seagates drive manager. i ran a test using the drive manager, just when a pop-up appears reading: windows write delayed failed >F. this told me it was a bad device. this device requires service, a return materials autorization (RMA) is available. i think there is a 5 year warranty on their external h/drives, so its not too late, but awkward. maxtor and seagate seem to have a common problem with their drives for reliability.
    can anyone reccomend a replacement?
