I have this MDF file that is about 5 1/2 gigs big and I would like to transfer it to another computer. For that I was planning to burn it on a dvd but it won't fit. What can I do??? Can I mount the image using alcohol and split the files into two that way I can burn it on two dvd's ??? Please help!

I would probably just use Winrar and split it up with that, making multiple 50 or 100 meg files. You can set the compression method to store, that way it will go faster since it isn't compressing anything. Put as many as will fit on 1 dvd then the rest on another then restore it on the other pc.

If possible, use isobuster to extract the game and then remove the extra languages (most have french and spanish tracks that are over 400 MB) and write to a DVD-R as data files. Good luck!

i think you could convert that mdf into an iso, it might shrink down into a dvd5.

iso shrinks??? I had a 612mb file (halo pc) and it made it 614 MB!
    _____________________________________________________________________Solution....compress with best...should fit on a dvd...

MDf and MDS aren't those image files?.. If so, which I really do think they are...play them off the hdd...

If you really want to burn them use winrar...I would use best compressiion method (it should fit on one dvd/who cares about speed because if you have it on hdd then you will barely ever need the dvd again...
