Meaning of Bulk

    Can someone please tell me what is meant by Bulk shown on some dealers lists for various burners?

    Well if they are selling them that means you have to buy a number of the drives not just one.

    Some brand names of dvd burners will state bulk and retail,and they are a little different from one another.

    Benq is one of them. The older 1620 had the bulk version and retail version. For some odd reason,the re-tail version were the re-badges,and the bulk drives were the genuine drives.This sounds like it's backwards.
    Their firmware version will be different:

    Bulk= B7V9
    Retail= G7V9

    2 different firmwares-even though both made by benq 1620. Crossflashing can be performed to turn the retail drive into the bulk drive.

    Lots of re-badges out there: Benq/Lite-on/Sony/and even plextor. Check out newegg.com for any future drives.Great prices and cheap shipping.
