Hey everyone. I'm new here and need some help. I have recorded digital cable movies to my harddrive with XP Media Center. They are copy protected and now I can't even watch them let alone burn them to DVD. I have DVD decrypter and DVD Shrink, but since they are window movie files these programs won't open them either. Is there any way to break the decryption on these files?
    Thanks

Someone had a thread up like this somewhere else, and my answer was probably not. But my question is why can't you watch them? Did you move them onto a different computer?

Nero tells me that there is an error reading the file. When I try to open them with media player, it says "you are not allowed to open this file." I guess I will just delete them.

Might as well. If you have a TV Tuner though, just find some third party software. Most will let you record shows in an unprotected mpeg or avi.

I have dual tuner. I hooked the digital cable box to it and used Media Center to record the movies from HBO, SHO, etc. However the movies are copy protected and won't play or burn. I use Nero to burn. Are there programs that will record to my computer and not copy protect the movies??
    Thanks
